Sweet Home Alabama

This has been a crazy year!  We packed up the few things that survived all our other moves (Arizona to Utah, Utah to Arizona, Utah to another place in Utah, Utah to ALABAMA...) and drove to Alabama.  The day we arrived to stay for good was the first day we had ever seen the place.

The deep south has been another home I never knew I had.  I'm grateful I danced and played with best friends from Alabama and Mississippi as a teenager because I feel like this culture was a part of me already when I arrived.

Career-wise I'm still going strong.  Teaching loads of dance classes (and picking up more hours next season), singing in a church choir if that counts, but I must admit; I am theatrically unfulfilled.  Although I can sing classically, I often feel like belting out my notes and bursting into a pop-legit rendition of whatever hymn we are on that day.  Where do people act here in Huntsville, Alabama?  Musicals?  Plays?  I noted that one theater in Huntsville, the only theater aside from a children's theater that I've been able to find through my good friend, Google, is auditioning for "Lend Me a Tenor."  Seeing as I am neither a tenor nor a male (and the cast calls for two male actors only) I'm thinking it is not the show for me.

Looks like someone is going to have to start her own place up...... ;)
